My First Bento by LeTombeCelui My First Bento by LeTombeCelui
Ok this is my first bento box. I didn't totally make it myself ^_^** I just kinda put it together from my leftovers.

Reads from top to bottom:
Boiled Egg, Sushi, Veg. Sushi, heart shaped wasabi, banana breaded candy, duck sauce, fried chicken, crab ragoon, fried rice with a honey ball smile

Very nice! You might want to consider a cup for your wasabi, to keep it from getting messy into the rest of your food. Also, under your fried food you might consider a layer of lettuce- it'll keep everything neater, give you a burst of green with all the brown, and also hide the bottom of the container.

But for a first bento, it's really, really good! A lot better than my first- gaps and holes everywhere and it slid around so badly!

You're not supposed to have any holes? So many of the ones I've seen had them so I didn't think it was that big of a deal lol. ^_^** But thank you for the comment I'll keep that info in mind!! I've actually got the little sauce cups and such on their way. ^_^** I live in an area where all of this stuff has to be special ordered sadly.

Plugging gaps is both aesthetic and practical- while gaps between the foods may not look good, it's more important to make sure things are tightly packed because if you have space, when you pack your bento around all day, the food slides around and mixes and gets messy.

Try cherry tomatoes, grapes, or any small, FIRM fruit or vegetable. (Don't use berries, they squish.)

I don't do 'food art', usually, so my bentos aren't packed for their looks so much as their food and their practicality, but plugging gaps stabilizes the whole box so that everything stays neat and separated. ^_^

Hehe! Yeah, making sure it can't move isn't as important if it's only moving from the counter to the table! Like I said- it's very good for a first time and you'll do awesome the more you practice!
